Rest. Okay? Actually rest.

Those words are as much for you, dear reader, as they are for me.

Thanksgiving is two days away. For many of us, that triggers a long weekend. And for many of us for whom that *is* a long weekend, we will find any number of reasons to stay just as active as if it were a regular week of the year. Like nothing has changed. Like no opportunity for something different was knocking urgently at the door.

I can't speak for you, but I'm tired. And maybe it seems easier to just keep doing the same thing without pause. Maybe the pause frightens us.

But I — we — have the opportunity to do something different in these coming days.

And herein lies my quasi public commitment to doing things that restore and reset (at least as much as the kids will allow me to do so).
