🔋 Lunar Lessons
Look to the moon and consider what it may teach you.
It's always there, serving its purpose. It doesn’t always reveal its full self — even on cloudless nights, it may only offer a sliver. On rare occasion, it strikes a different color, an orangish-red that stirs attention. And on some nights, you get take it in its purest form, beaming, bright, and bold.
No matter its appearance, its impact is consistent. It controls our tides and stabilizes our orbit. You don't need to be into astrology (I'm not) to learn something from this.
There's a comforting constancy to the moon.
What are your constants?
In an era of relentless distraction and a culture obsessed with "productivity" routines, we can lose sight of the stabilizing forces that can help keep us grounded. The traits, forces, things, and people that are always there, even if we aren't paying attention to them. The fears and the strengths that are a part of us.
For some, this can be fellow humans. Friends and family that are there for you when you need them but often remain out of sight, especially when you’re busy. Sometimes those humans show up in their fullest form, and sometimes there's just a sliver of them you can see.
In my own modern life, I’ve had to turn regularly to those fellow humans for support. Those who I knew would answer even if there are rarely called upon. And like Rohan, they have answered.
Another type of constant could be a version of inner peace that can be found if only you're in a place to access it. That steadiness that allows one to find calm and resolve. The blue sky that reaches above the clouds.
I am on a quest to make people embrace the things that make them unique and weird. One way to uncover that is to spend some time with this deceptively nuanced question, actually spending time listing out the constants you can rely on.
We shouldn’t allow the noise of the world to draw us away from the things that help us stabalize. The things we know to be true and that can provide a foundation to outlast trying winds, which always fade, in time.
The moon, in its effervescent beauty, is always there, orbiting and serving its vital role that helps us regulate and thrive.
Find your moon, and embrace it.
